American Election Results No Surprise, But Michelle Obama Wearing A Recycled Dress Is!

The Results are in and Romney was knocked out of the race by, Obama 290 - 203 Romney. (And both knocking down my chances) We all knew that by the time Obama got Ohio (the essential state to get into the White House) he'd won. But Obama being President was so last year-literally. I want to talk about Michelle Obama and a little story about recycling a Michael Kors shiny burgandy dress.

'Yes I'm a dress recycler!'- YEAH!! or NAH?!   Jason Reed/Reuters

Yes Fashionistas, on one of her biggest nights, Michelle Obama repeats an outfit: shock horror...

... She had worn this dress twice before! And perhaps even more behind closed doors; one never knows what goes on behind there. Especially with this one; she's a downright serial outfit recycling First Lady.

Ok, I hear all you eco-friendly warriors out there: 'save the planet; recycle the dress!' But this was an extravagant do; only every four years. In addition, I think the outfit itself is very safe, unlike her courageous red ensemble of four years ago (though she needs to get rid of that black cross around the midriff and the ensemble requires a bit of tightening).

Fearless in Red, just like her defeated counterpart, Ann Louise Romney.

Despite my previous rant, I do think Michelle is a clever lady and her choice of reusing a dress, may have wider underlying philosophical meaning. My theory: she wore the same dress because she did not want change, she wanted to re-stamp her position as First Lady, and that had she lost, she was still First Lady as she was when she had previously worn that dress. In stark contrast, in 2004, she clearly wanted to become a new woman, the Head of our Lands for the first time, so she opted for a daring red and a most likely new dress.

Lets just hope the theory of old position but more improved standing is the story of the next Mrs O outfit in the spotlight.
